Thaipat Institute holds the 1st Official GRI Introductory Workshop in Thailand
On 12 November 2010, Thaipat Institute and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) hold the official GRI introductory workshop for the first time in Thailand. Enrique Torres, Senior Manager Training & Coaching Programs at GRI will facilitate 2 workshops for selective participants from listed companies, state enterprises, SMEs, and public organizations.
Introductory workshops will establish awareness around the GRI G3 Framework and also create a “common language” around the use of G3 guidelines. It will show why and how the G3 guideline framework can assist organizations to manage and report on their social, economic, and environmental impacts.
The workshops will offer insight into the five phases of the reporting process and challenges felt important for the country. It provides techniques in choosing indicators by materiality test exercise which is very practical way of working with the indicators. The GRI Application Levels will also be discussed in the workshops.
Every participant will receive 60-pages GRI Sustainability Reporting Handbook “How Valuable is the Journey”. The journey clearly indicates how process will be planned and implemented as an integral part of accessing and multiplying the value of the reporting process. This value is captured when reporting is seen as a process rather than a project, and not merely the process of preparing just a final report.
Mr. Enrique Torres, who conducts the workshops, currently works for GRI and responsible for implementing and leading the GRI certified training programs plus GRI organized workshops. He has worked in training and management positions for private, governmental and non-governmental organizations over the last 15 years in a variety of cultural contexts.
The workshops were organized by Thaipat Institute and Corporate Social Responsibility Institute (CSRI) and supported by Siam Cement Group (SCG), Bangchak Petroleum, and Pruksa Real Estate.
